What needs to happen three months before the move?

If you have previously lived in a rented apartment, you must give three months’ notice. If you submit the notice of termination by the third working day of the current month, this month will be added to the notice period. If the landlord does not receive it until later in the month, the three-month period begins with the following month. The notice of termination of an apartment must be submitted in writing.

Plan how many days you need for the move and determine the exact time. In this context, you need to contact the removal company and consider how many boxes you estimate you will need for your move to the condominium.

If you have subscriptions or contracts in your rented apartment, you must cancel or re-register them in good time. These include electricity, water and internet. If you have children who have to change their school due to the move, you should initiate the re-registration as early as possible. You may be entitled to special leave at your place of work. On the day you move into your condominium, you can simply tick off all the necessary things on your handy checklist:

  • Make a note of the meter readings in your old apartment and your condominium.
  • Instruct the removal helpers to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
  • Pack up the remaining items in your home so that they can be removed.
  • Clean the last corners of the rented apartment so that you can hand it over without any problems.
