This old building with a special character is located on the corner of Linienstraße and Kleine Hamburger Straße: The apartment building, built around 1838 and later extended and converted, is part of the Spandauer Vorstadt monument ensemble and bears witness to the old Berlin architectural style in the former barn quarter. With a first floor, three upper floors and a converted attic, the property offers a total of 17 residential units and one commercial unit. During the refurbishment of the building in 2003 / 2004, all trades were renewed and preserved old building details were restored in accordance with the preservation order. Wooden double-glazed windows were installed, bathrooms were renovated and the fresh water and sewage pipes as well as the building’s electrical system were renewed. Some balconies were added on the courtyard side. The inner courtyard is charming and attractively designed. The house, which has a full basement, is heated by gas central heating and is in good, well-maintained condition.
The refurbishment was carried out as part of a funding agreement with Investitionsbank Berlin, which expired in 2023. Conditions from the subsidy agreement therefore no longer exist.

Linienstraße is located in a prime residential area of Berlin-Mitte in the heart of the Scheunen-Viertel and the historic Spandauer Vorstadt district. The historic buildings of the beautiful streets here are largely well preserved and renovated. Linienstraße itself is a traffic-calmed bicycle street, while Kleine Hamburger Straße is a dead end.
